Adult Classes

Overview

Taekwondo is a very systematic martial art from Korea that involves head-height kicks, spinning, jumping, and fast kicking techniques. Taekwondo is recognized as one of the oldest forms of martial arts and one of the more popular forms to learn. Many people enjoy Taekwondo at House of Dragons because it involves more than just movement of the body, but also positive training of our spirit and mind.

Variety Workouts/Stress Relief

Taekwondo helps build mental toughness, teaches the value of hard work, and gives you the persistence you need in everyday life. Many members at House of Dragons have said that Taekwondo is also a great stress-relief from school or work because it helps take their mind off problems they are facing so they can focus all their thoughts into kicking the target in front of them. It is a workout where you have to have endurance to execute all the various kicks and punches until the end of class. By engaging your brain during class, Taekwondo can help provide a completely different workout that you won’t find anywhere else.

Self Defense

Takwondo at House of Dragons Taekwondo in Frisco puts you in an atmosphere where you can succeed with any sized opponent, gain self-esteem and confidence in your skills, and learn to never give up and raise your endurance. We will give you the skills you need to feel confident in redirection and assertiveness in any threatening situation. Our members at House of Dragons are taught how to assess and de-escalate situations without needing to physically use their skills.

Fitness

One of the main benefits of Taekwondo is improving your strength and balance. Taekwondo depends on kicking, which helps practitioners learn to balance their weight on one leg leaving the other one free to strike. This martial art utilizes your core strength and leg strength while working on your flexibility and agility. Taekwondo can also help greatly improve coordination and endurance.

Community

In Taekwondo, students are taught how to help each other out in class. Whether that be to help hold boards to break or targets for you to kick even to being sparring partners. By creating a bond of trust and reciprocation, you and your sparring partner can then practice various kicking combinations on each other and see how to make things work. Members at House of Dragons have become close friends and help each other reach their goals.
